TYMPANIC TEMPERATURE HAS BEEN PROVEN AS AN

EXCELLENT METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT

Clinical studies have shown that the ear is an excellent site for capturing accurate measurements as temperatures taken in the ear reflect the body’s core temperature1. Ear temperatures accurately reflect core body temperature2 because the eardrum shares a blood supply with the temperature control center in the brain3, the hypothalamus. Therefore, changes in body temperature may be reflected sooner in the ear as opposed to axillary, oral and rectal sites.
